Greetings alumni and friends of Bishop Noll Institute.  Classes are in full swing at 1519 Hoffman St and the start of another year of Catholic education has been a busy one. We will kick the year off with our annual back-to-school picnic, sponsored by the BNI Parents’ Club. Parents’ Club President, Anna Howard, and her team of dedicated parents and guardians have devoted many hours in planning and executing the annual event. Students and their families will be treated to hamburgers, hot dogs and all the favorite picnic dishes. Students will have a chance to catch-up with each other from their summer vacation and enjoy each others’ company. A special advance thank you to all those who helped make this year’s back-to-school picnic a huge success.

At the start of the school year we have welcomed our new assistant principal, Mr. Michael McGrone, Sr. His main areas of focus will be safety and discipline.  His background and experience as a dean of students gives us great confidence that he is exactly what we need to help us prioritize student accountability at Bishop Noll. His first order of business was to revise the student handbook with a team of teachers and students. He has worked in the charter school system in Chicago as well as at Seton Academy. Please join me in extending a Warrior Welcome to Mr. McGrone.

This summer saw the completion of the Digital Learning Center (DLC) upgrades which were completed in less than three years.  The renovations consisted of electrical upgrades, installing a Smartboard and a digital projector, and a fresh coat of paint in over thirty classrooms. This three year project commenced in January of 2007 with the creation of our very first model classroom as we introduced the concept of the Bishop Noll Prep Academy to the public. While contractors handled the electrical work and the technology installation, the painting of classrooms was completed by family volunteers as part of our family service hours program. The DLC has placed Noll back on top as the premiere college prep school in Northwest Indiana. A hearty thanks to all who helped us in this process.

In other news, the annual Reach for the Stars cash raffle is in full swing. All monies go to support student programs. Please call Noll’s Office of Institutional Advancement for more information on this exciting raffle.

Attention all alumni and friends, mark your calendars for the annual BNI Homecoming Tailgate on Friday, October 9. This annual event brings alumni and friends from all over the country back to Noll. Come by and see old friends and make new ones. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15 which includes beverages and food for the night. The event begins after our Homecoming Football game and attendees must be over 21 years of age. Come out and show your Warrior pride at this much anticipated event of the year.

Great things are happening at Noll – stop by and see the Warrior Spirit in action good luck and God bless!
