Press Release
November 11, 2009

Rodney Walker, a youth featured in the documentary “Ten9Eight” will speak at Bishop Noll Institute on December 2, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. and will also speak at the school’s Parent’s Club meeting at 6:30 p.m.
Ten9Eight is a thought provoking film which tells the inspirational stories of several inner city teens as they compete in an annual business plan competition run by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). The documentary also articulates the dramatic statistic that in America a kid drops out of high school every nine seconds.
Walker will be on the Bishop Noll Institute campus to talk to students and share the obstacles that he has had to overcome throughout his life. Walker is currently at Morehouse College and majoring in business.
Also appearing in the film is BNI Assistant Principal Michael McGrone, Sr. McGrone is the founder of the mentoring program, Mentoring Tomorrows Leaders (MTL) Educational Consulting, Inc., an organization that provides supportive educational and social services to inner city, at-risk high school students.
Reporters and photographers are welcomed to attend this event on December 2, 2009. Event is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. Media personnel are asked to enter through door “A” of the school. Please contact Matt Chico to arrange interviews with Rodney Walker and Assistant Principal, Michael McGrone, Sr.
